The worm of Hemingway

When Hemingway died he left his novel "The Garden of Eden" unfinished, and though years later the novel was published posthumously in a much-abridged form in 1986, many at the time thought that this could not been the book Hemingway envisioned, and looked crossed eyed at each other in distaste and scorn.

The Publishers, distressed at the poor reception the novel received, and were willing to put the book to rest. Unable to reconstruct Hemingway's unwieldy manuscript in a manner acceptable to those in the know of the literati, this was to be the death knell to Hemingway's last published novel, all was lost when a curious young man presented himself at their door, expressing his desire to assist the publishers.

This young man claimed to have genetically created new type of worm, that had the ability to take what genetic material was left in the grave of Hemingway and produce a worm that was able to construct he novel in the manner the author had intended.

The worm was inserted into what was left of the corpse, and everyone waited while the worm did it's work, weeks went by, months went by and all they heard from the grave was the typing of the worm, but yet no manuscript was brought forth, finally, unwilling to wait any longer, the publishers became impatient,and wanted to dig the grave up and get what manuscript they could from the bowels of the rotting corpse of Hemingway. The young man cautioned that this would be unwise, because the manuscript would forever be lost if they dug the worm up prematurely.

But sir, exclaimed the publisher, when should we dig?

to which the young man replied, I have no idea how far the worm is, but he is working in Ernest.
